As part of our 26th Milton Keynes Coniston Cub Scout group’s campaign to give back to our local communities, Coniston Cubs recently raised £373 for Willen Hospice, the Charity the Cubs chose for us to support in this spring term.
Two of our Sixers, Alex and Svea, plus Cub Drew who raised the most sponsorship money, met up to proudly present the money to Willen Hospice.
In one of our after-dark sessions in February, the Pack completed a sponsored walk all the way round both the North and South Lakes at Willen. Along the way there was a great deal of Cubs camaraderie, bonding through chat, high energy games of tag, and encouragements for all.
At the end of the walk, Cubs also took part in a litter pick, thereby giving back to The Parks Trust that so kindly allow us to meet in their green spaces.
Akela was super proud of Coniston Cubs for their continued efforts and commitment to support local charitable causes in our community.
This sponsored walk for Willen Hospice and litter pick for The Parks Trust built on our previous community efforts that included Coniston Cubs gathering food for the MK Food Bank, biscuit decorating and cards for The Winter Night Shelter.
